Ivica Olic will join Bayern Munich next season

Transfer News, World News No Comments

Croatia forward Ivica Olic will play for Bayern Munich next season.

He has been in an outstanding form this season for Hamburg and I am sure they will miss him. I have not seen so many players running as much as he does during a game.

His contract with Hamburg expires at the end of the season and Olic will join Bayern on a three-year deal starting July 1.

He will make 4.5 million euro per year, 1.5 million more than Hamburg offered him for a contract renewal.

Owen + Liverpool reunion?

Premier League News, Transfer News, World News No Comments

Newcastle striker Michael Owen is still thinking about whether to sign a new contract or not at Newcastle. However it all seems very obvious he is stalling on a new deal only to be free agent next summer. The injury struck player seems to be wanting out of St. James´ Park and is heading south.

Potential clubs include former club Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Liverpool would seem the ideal club for the Kop and Michael Owen himself (having his family in the area still). Chelsea would like to sign a striker in January and having the buying power they could snap Owen in January already for a smaller fee. That move would certainly irritate other interested clubs waiting for Owen to see out his contract until next summer. However, Frank Lampard has stated that although Owen is a great player he thinks Chelsea have got enough strikers at the club already.

Manchester City and Arsenal need an experienced player but the question is would Owen choose another club instead of Liverpool? We believe Owen will choose Liverpool, knowing he could well be third or even fourth in the pecking order at Anfield. A move to Merseyside would feel like home to him and the Liverpool physios are famous for treating players in an exceptional way.

The conclusion is that Newcastle have finally understood that Michael Owen is not going to sign a new deal and he will sign for a club in the south. Our shot is Liverpool. Only time will tell though…

Kaká to Manchester City?

Premier League News, Transfer News, World News No Comments

Brazilian playmaker and Milan superstar Ricardo Kaká has been quoted as wanting to play for Manchester City. Kaká told the media he was impressed by English football, just ahead of the clash against Portsmouth. The Brazilian wouldn’t be alone in the team as Robinho and Elano already at the club.

Not many would believe such a move would become a reality, although one should not forget Robinho signed for City, Tevez once signed for West Ham…

In football everything is possible but Kaká in City? Hm…. we’ll give it an honouring 10% chance!

Gallas in trouble again

Premier League News, Transfer News, World News No Comments

Arsenal captain William Gallas has done it again. Sink into deep water that is. Last month this “captain” was caught by a photographer leaving a nightclub with a cigarette in his mouth, resulting in a two-week fine. This guy is supposed to be a role model for teenagers in the world of football but also someone to look up to at the Arsenal training ground.

This time…. he insults his own players. Perhaps you’d say “oh come on, as usual media is exaggerating”. Well not this time though. Gallas talked to the media for a long long time, basically insulting his mates in every sentence.

Gallas tries to explain the problems at Arsenal:

“There comes a time where we can no longer comprehend how this can happen. I am trying to defend myself a bit without giving names. Otherwise I’m taking all the blame. It’s very frustrating. I’m 31, the player is six years younger than me.”

And on…

“Big contracts — which Arsenal’s teenage players have now and United’s starlets waited years for — may be a factor. That makes the difference, perhaps. You can rest on your laurels, that’s for sure. The problem is that the Manchester youngsters have been through something, they have won something.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is really put under pressure now. Gallas should loose his captaincy and probably his place in the team as well. Not based on his comments only but because he is trying to force a way out of Arsenal. Not long ago he angered Gunners fans by stating he would like to move to France and play for a big club (uhm how many big clubs are there in France?)…

Yare yare (well well) as they say in Japanese, I mean surely Gallas is behaving in a natural manner.
Of course if I was a dreaming human being, coming from a difficult and poor background and all I wanted was to play football, and then I get this chance to play in Chelsea and then TO CAPTAIN ARSENAL FC, of course I would want to leave for a French team… surely you agree!

Xavi pledges future to Barcelona

Transfer News, Uncategorized, World News No Comments

Barcelona midfielder Xavi is set to pledge his future to Barcelona and has hinted that he wants to finish his career at Nou Camp. Xavi has been at the club all of his life and seems to enjoy the development of the club. Barca top the table and have started La Liga in the best fashion.

Barcelona are very keen to keep the superstar in Barcelona and club president Joan Laporta states: ‘For us, he is a key player and is an example to every youngster that we have in the youth ranks’.

One key factor seems to be that Xavi never complains, he symbolizes Barcelona in many ways and is a role model for youngsters. Laporta continues: ‘I think that Xavi only has Barça as an option at the moment. He knows that we will do everything that we can, and perhaps even a little bit more, because we are talking about one of our own youth team products.’

Negotiations will start in the coming weeks between the two parties.

Crespo leaving for Real Madrid?

Premier League News, Transfer News, World News No Comments

Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo is according to the Italian and Spanish newspapers on his way to Madrid club.

Real Madrid is looking for a striker after receiving the news that Ruud van Nistelrooy is out for a season and Crespo is a top target. It is believed that his agent will fly out to Madrid for a talk with sports director Mijatovic in a matter of days.

Other names that are being mentioned are Andrei Arshavin, Didier Drogba, Mario Gomez, Vagner Love, Mirko Vucinic.

Season over for van Nistelrooy

Transfer News, World News No Comments

Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will definitely be out for 6-9 months which means that this season is over for him.

The Real Madrid striker will have to undergo a surgery on his knee and will need a long recovery period. The Dutch international went to the USA for a check up with Dr. Stedman who preformed a surgery on his knee in 2000 when he was in PSV. Dr. Stedman told him the news.

On their official homepage Real Madrid have confirmed the news and also stated that they will try to sign a new striker to replace van Nistelrooy soon. Some of names that have been speculated on by the media are Mario Gomez, Carlos Tevez, Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz…

I especially really like Tevez but consider him to be a different kind of player. These are all good players but not Ruud-class in my opinion. If I was Mijatovic I would try to sign Ajax striker Huntelaar or Lyon striker Benzema, world class strikers that can still develop. Both are young and might be Real Madrid’s front men for years to come. Especially Huntelaar is a lot like Ruud, a good box player.

After disastrous summer spending the cash should be there!!!
